The application for Chapter Officers Position is currently OPEN.

Individuals who would like to run for office must be current Bergen Community College students and Phi Theta Kappa members in good standing (minimum 3.500 cumulative GPA).

All candidates must complete the following steps:

  1. Submit the application below by 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018. Late applications will not be accepted.

  2. Attend New Officer Leadership Development Sessions in late January. Those sessions will be scheduled later as we will try to accommodate your schedules.

  3. Be able to attend the weekly board meetings on Fridays from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. during the Spring semester.

 The positions that are currently open for elections are:

Advisory Board Positions -- One-semester term (January 2019 - May 2019)

  • Social Media Coordinator

    • Manage the Chapter’s social media accounts, which include facebook, twitter, instagram, and youtube.

    • Create promotional material for social media such as short videos, graphics, and banners.

    • Provide general support to the Communications Team and PTK Board on various projects and initiatives.

  • Newsletter Co-Editor

    • Responsible for creating and editing the monthly issues of the PTK newsletter, The Edge.

    • Responsible for soliciting materials to be published.

    • Set and enforces deadlines.

    • Provide general support to the Communications Team and PTK Board on various projects and initiatives.

  • Graphic Designer

    • Develop graphics to advertise Chapter events and programs.

    • Create logos and designs for various promotional materials such as brochures, t-shirts, etc.

    • Responsible for the layout design of the Chapter’s Newsletter.

    • Provide general support to the Communications Team and PTK Board on various projects and initiatives.

  • Directors of Service

    • Responsible for organizing PTK Service events on and off campus throughout the semester.

    • Communicate with local organizations to coordinate community events.

    • Responsible for communicating with student volunteers regarding service events.

    • Provide general support to the Service Team and PTK Board on various projects and initiatives.

  • Directors of Recruitment

    • Responsible for organizing PTK recruitment events, which include events such as information tables, PTK Awareness sessions, social gatherings, etc.

    • Coordinate outreach to eligible students.

    • Coordinate various PTK awareness campaigns

    • Provide general support to the Recruitment Team and PTK Board on various projects and initiatives.

  • Directors of Fundraising

    • Devise a fundraising strategy to be approved by the PTK Board

    • Responsible for organizing the PTK fundraising events throughout the semester (such as: bake sales, t-shirt sale, etc).

    • Manage and motivate a team of volunteers who engage in fundraising activities.

    • Provide general support to the Finance Team and PTK Board on various projects and initiatives.
