The application for Chapter Officers Position is currently OPEN.

Individuals who would like to run for office must be current Bergen Community College students and Phi Theta Kappa members in good standing (minimum 3.500 cumulative GPA).

All candidates must complete the following steps:

  1. Submit the application below by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Late applications will not be accepted.

  2. Attend one of the Chapter Officer Candidate Orientation Sessions (details listed on the application).

  3. Deliver a three minute speech at the Elections Meeting on Monday, May 13, 1:00pm - 3:00pm in C313.

  4. Be able to attend board meetings throughout the summer and weekly during the academic year.

 The positions that are currently open for elections are:

Executive Board Positions -- One-year term (July 2019 - June 2020)

  • Chapter President

    • Preside over all Chapter events and activities

    • Represent the organization at all times.

    • Oversee the progress of Hallmarks, Honors In Action, College Project, and C4.

  • General Vice-President

    • Oversee the progress of Hallmarks, Honors In Action, College Project, and C4.

    • Responsible for overseeing PTK Service events on and off campus throughout the semester.

    • Perform all duties of the president in the event of his absence.

  • Vice President of Finance

    • Devise a fundraising strategy to be approved by the PTK Board.

    • Responsible for organizing the PTK fundraising events throughout the semester (such as: bake sales, t-shirt sale, etc).

    • Manage the Chapter’s budget.

  • Vice President of Operations

    • Take and read minutes of all official meetings.

    • Maintain the enhanced membership log to provide a list of enhanced members to the advisors every semester.

    • Oversee PTK workshops and service events on and off campus throughout the semester.

  • Vice President of Communications

    • Manage the Chapter’s social media accounts, which include facebook, twitter, instagram, and youtube.

    • Create promotional material for social media such as short videos, graphics, and banners.

    • Responsible for creating and editing the monthly issues of the PTK newsletter, The Edge.

  • Vice President of Recruitment

    • Responsible for organizing PTK recruitment events, which include events such as information tables, PTK Awareness sessions, social gatherings, etc.

    • Coordinate outreach to eligible students.

    • Coordinate various PTK awareness campaigns.

Advisory Board Positions -- One-semester term (July 2019 - December 2019)

  • Social Media Coordinator - Communications Team

  • Newsletter Co-Editor - Communications Team

  • Graphic Designer - Communications Team

  • Secretary - Operations Team

  • Directors of Service - Operations Team

  • Directors of Recruitment - Recruitment Team

  • Directors of Fundraising - Finance Team
